Baby Einstein Videos

I watched Baby Einstein for the first time. No, actually what really happened is that we put it on for the first time. I was not very interested in actually watching it. Ms. Beth said that it was OK so we played instead!

Vegetable Meals

I had so much to tell Ms. Beth about my Texas trip. She got to feed me vegetables for the first time since in the past week, I have been eating different foods lately. Today is a very hot day so we sat in the yard for a while but mostly played indoors.

Fly Back Home

Today Mommy and I fly back to Texas alone. I am sad to leave Grandpap and Obachan, but they said that they will see me again soon. We were also able to upgrade to fly first class. How fun, I get to see Daddy again soon!

Friends

While in Texas, I got to meet Mrs. Donna Harrison, my Mommy's very good friend and Confirmation Sponsor. Mrs. Harrison knew Mommy when she was in Junior High riding the St. Peter's bus to Nolan. Also, I got to meet Sarah, John, Andy, Eva, Nick and Charlie Cordell and play with their cool toys like trucks and swords. We also got to see Keiko and Bob Burge and Jennifer, who has a baby coming in January!

Prunes

Everybody keeps feeding me prunes today. Prunes are fine but I much rather have yellow squash.
I went to St. Peter's for the first time and met friends of my Grandparents. Many of them attended a baby shower about a year ago before I was even born!

Hard Poo

Today was a very difficult day as I tried to pass a hockey puck. My first experience with constipation. Not fun! When the ordeal was all over, Grandpap text-messaged Auntie JoAnn and she yelled a sigh of relief over the canyons at Zion National Park.

Over Stimulation Station

Grandpap got me an Over-Stimulation Station today so that they can put me in it and I will be entertained. I love exploring all the new toys which are quite different than the ones at home. I have a lovely blue Pack N Play to sleep in and a blue stroller--all of which were borrowed from the Murphy's. I am enjoying my time in Texas!

Now We Fly to Texas

Obachan, Grandpap, Mommy and I fly first class to Dallas/Fort Worth. I will be able to spend one entire week there. Daddy will be in Florida attending an Extreme Makeover Business Conference to hear Bob Burge. I will miss him, but I love to fly and see all the people!

Fly to Texas?

Such a lovely cool day! I do not realize it but I will be experiencing my third airplane flight today with Obachan, Grandpap and Mommy. Everyone is busy not getting ready for the trip.

Nevermind. The flight was cancelled due to weather in Texas, so I will experience my third flight tomorrow!

Kaylie's Baptism

Today is Father's Day. Today is also my Christening into the Catholic Church. The family members that were able to attend the 12:15 Mass at St. Francis included: Obachan, Granpap Herness, Auntie JoAnn, Grandma and Grandpa Peters, Great-Grandma Bayer, Great-Aunt Karen, Auntie Kristin, Uncle Andy, Auntie Debora, Kaitlyn, and Lauren. Later Auntie Kim and Uncle Tim came over to the house for lunch. My Godmother is Auntie JoAnn and my Godfather is Uncle Andy.

Rainy Day

What a rainy day. It is good for the gardens, "bad" for me because I would prefer to be outside all the time.

Wild Morning Glories

A bit of a Kaylie Day. I didn't want to be put down. We walked past the library, explored flowers again and had a cool bath in the froggie pool. Ms. Beth believes that my favorite scent was the wild morning glory.

Japanese Tea Ceremony

Obachan is in town so today I got to meet the tea ceremony ladies, who apparently adored me. Later, Mommy, Ms. Beth and I had a nice lunch at the Coney Island and ice cream while Obachan stayed behind to observe more lessons. It was a fun day for all!

Ann Arbor Chamber Open House

Today was an outing day. Mommy, Ms. Beth and I ran errands in the morning with a break for lunch and a nap. Later we went to the Ann Arbor Chamber Open House event downtown. I got to see lots of Daddy's friends.

Water in a Bottle

We went on a walk in the stroller. Ms. Beth said that next time, she'll ride and let me push because she came back drenched and feeling like she'd been swimming in a warm oil slick. It's exceedingly humid today. The up-side is that we had another "first": I had a bottle afterwards with only a little water in it. The strange thing, though, is that I did not find it strange! Ms. Beth said that she would have wondered who took the flavor out of her "milk".

Singing in the Rain

We walked to the library to see the tropical fish. I kicked my feet wildly in recognition and joy. Rainy day, so most of our time was spent in the nursery--playing, talking, and singing old standbys like "Old McDonald" and "The itsy-bitsy spider".

Monet in Rain

We walked around the yard and Ticknor Court with Ms. Beth's "Monet" umbrella in a light rain. I enjoyed looking up at the colorful umbrella. Earlier in the day we walked around smelling flowers. I smiled when I smelled a sweet, grape-scented Iris. Ms. Beth is always teaching me the names of the flowers, plants and trees. She lets me touch the foliage and she wonders how much of this "education" will I remember.

Home in A2

A morning walk through a shady neighborhood. I was tired after my trip to Austin over the weekend (and my first plane ride)! So I slept for 2 hours. Later, Ms. Beth fed me rice cereal for the first time. And finally, finally I rolled over while Ms. Beth watched me while she was folding laundry in the afternoon. I have been rolling over for a while but rarely when people are looking.

Return to Ann Arbor

We had a wonderful time in Austin with all the wedding festivities. I really enjoyed all the toys, crib, and overstimulation station that Auntie JoAnn's friend let me borrow during my stay there. Now, it is time to return home. I slept most of the way back home, again.
