Stephanie and Jeff's Wedding Day

Today is the wedding day of Stephanie and Jeff--my first wedding. Daddy was an usher so he was dressed in his black tuxedo with blue tie and fun cuff links that I wanted to play with. The reception was a lot of fun and when I got a bit tired, Mommy and Obachan took me downstairs where it was a little bit quieter. I really enjoyed dancing with my Daddy and my Grandpap!

Trattoria Lisina

I rested a lot during the day so that I could be ready to attend my first rehearsal dinner at Trattoria Lisina. Daddy and Auntie JoAnn actually went to St. Catherine of Sienna Church for the actual wedding rehearsal. At the restaurant, we all sat outside overlooking the hill country of Texas. Mommy and Daddy said it reminded them of the Tuscany region of Italy. The weather was perfect and I enjoyed being with my Obachan and Grandpap. Stephanie looked so beautiful and Jeff so handsome. Since they have been such very good friends of my Auntie JoAnn for many years, she had a lot of stories to tell about them.

Maya and Jai

We started on a walk and met an older friend of Ms. Beth, a very sweet lady, who is nanny to two year old Maya and 4 year old Jai. We decided to walk together. Maya, especially, liked me and sympathized with me because I didn't have a "Ba" (pacifier) at the time. Maya had hers and loves it. I enjoyed seeing the children and their dog, Jolie.

First Airplane Ride

Mommy, Daddy and I are headed to Austin, Texas this evening. We will be staying at Auntie JoAnn's house, meeting with Obachan and Grandpap, and attending the wedding ceremony of Stephanie and Jeff. I was so excited to be at the airport because I got to see many different people. I felt very safe since Daddy carried me in the Baby Bjorn. I slept most of the way down to Austin. Mommy and Daddy were so thankful that it was a direct flight.

The Fish or Kids

Ms. Beth and I walked to the library to see the fish in the in-wall aquarium, but I really preferred to watch the kids! We sat in the front yard on blankets (or I napped in the stroller while Ms. Beth read). It was a beautiful sunny day. We took several shorter walks to avoid too much exposure. I rode in the stroller front facing for the first time! Mommy got pictures.

First Tooth

Over the weekend, I forgot to mention that I cut my first bottom tooth. Today Ms. Beth and I sang songs (or she did and I smiled). We enjoyed the swing at the park located at the corner of Stone School and Eisenhower and took a walk in the Baby Bjorn through a very pretty neighborhood.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend 2008. We spent the time with Grandma Debby and Grandpa Steve. I took a long nap in the stroller under the apple tree while Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma worked in the vegetable garden. Saturday was my first taste of rice cereal--hated it at first and cried for my bottle. After the bottle, Daddy was able to feed me 5 spoonfuls. Grandma bought me some beautiful outfits, especially the orange sweater made in France. We walked out of the "Once Upon a Child" store with a bag full of clothes.

Ayla and Kaylie

This afternoon at Grandma Debby's and Grandpa Steve's house, I met Ayla for the first time. Ayla was born about two weeks after me and her Daddy and my Mommy work for the same company, Gene Express. Our parents sat outside on the deck and talked while we hugged each other. I did lick Ayla, though, on the forehead just to see how she tasted.

Stacking Dog

I enjoyed looking at "the baby in the mirror", read books and played with the "stacking dog". I love to grip his head by the ears and shake him till he rattles. Miss Beth and I also walked outdoors in the stroller and Baby Bjorn.

After Shots

I've reacted better to the shots than at my 4 month immunization visit. Mainly because Mommy gave me baby Tylenol to help reduce my fever and relieve my aches. Also, I had less swelling in both my legs. I slept most of the day and later in the afternoon we took a long walk outside. I felt much better after the trees whispered soothing comfort in my ears.

6 mo Check-Up

What a sad, sleepy day. Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor's office again this morning and this time I received my immunizations (2 in each leg and one oral vaccine that tasted yucky!). Dr. Popper was nice and drew breakfast, lunch and dinner plate plans on the paper sheet so that Miss Beth and Mommy can start giving me solid food.

Right Time, Wrong Date

A pretty happy day with lots of walks outside and lots of talking. My Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor's office in the morning, however, when we signed-in at the counter the receptionist said that our appointment was scheduled for tomorrow. I didn't have to get shots after all.

Out and About

During our walk through the neighborhood, Miss Beth and I came across Diane from across the street who stopped us to say Hi and see how big I've been growing.

Rainy Day

We played in the nursery "jumping", "talking" and reading together.

Ceiling Fans

Electricians were here putting lights on the sides of the garage. We spent a lot of time walking and napping in the stroller under the shade . It was a beautiful warm day with deep blue skies. I missed Grandpa Peters because all I wanted to do was jump a lot. Later, I sat on Miss Beth's lap and we talked "baby talk" for a full 20 minutes. Miss Beth said, "Good attention span, Kaylie!"

Kaylie Day

Today we did a lot of resting and short walks outside. I am still congested and coughing.

Grandma and Grandpa Peters

Grandma and Grandpa Peters are coming today to visit me! We went to the 5 pm Mass at St. Francis. I loved being held by Grandma as I fell asleep in her arms. I loved being held by Grandpa as I "jumpa, jumpa" on his lap!

Quiet Day

I wasn't feeling well. I am very congested. We took only short walks and spent lots of time in the nursery. Miss Beth had to hold me a lot because I would cry easily. She would say, "Poor Kaylie, it's a Kaylie day".

Milan

Yay! Today I was able to visit with my little friends, Morgan and Emma, in Milan, Michigan. We played all day and I did not want to take a nap for fear that I would miss something.

Front Porch

Today is a rainy day. I am not eating well. I am very congested and spitting up right after I eat which makes me very frustrated. Miss Beth and I sat on the front porch for a while and I had some long naps.

Neighborhood Walks

Today we took long walks through the neighborhood in the Baby Bjorn.

The Storm

Today we walked in the Baby Bjourn and stopped in Kroger's just as it began to rain. Luckily I seemed happy looking at the colorful products in the aisles and smiling at people passing by. We attempted to wait out the rain but finally my "lunch" time arrived and so did the thunder! Happily Daddy was able to pick us up, and after my bottle, I settled in for a nap.

Grandpap's Birthday

Today is Grandpap's birthday. We all went on a picnic lunch to Lilly Park and explored the trail that surrounds Turtle Rock Pond. We missed Auntie JoAnna so we text messaged her and sent her a picture of us eating hoggies at the picnic table. It was such a beautiful cool spring day!
