Hands On Museum

Can you believe that there is a place that is children proof called the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor? Mommy and Daddy really wanted to attended the "Tech night networking event" but ended up chasing me around all evening and also played with the bubble machine, the tornado, and the musical harp. Later, we met with my friend Audry Auer and her parents for dinner at Shalimar on Main Street. I was exhausted by the end of the evening.

Birthday Party

This afternoon we all went to the Pond House to celebrate the birthday of Lindsey's husband, Reid. It was one year ago on Reid's birthday that I last met with Rebecca, Angela, Regan, and Lindsey. On the deck, I was a little unsure about the tiny wiggly fish on the end of the fishing pole, but I tried to touch it anyways. And the best part of the day was the homemade pineapple cake!

Potty Training Step II

This afternoon, I wrote from my nap and asked Beth if I could sit on my pot. She got me ready and within the minute, I went again! There were claps and shouts of joy again. Ms. Beth said that I am getting the idea!

Potty Training Step I

Ms. Beth is helping me with Potty training duty. She was the one that started the program by allowing me to slowly get used to the tiny plastic pot, and today was the first time I told Ms. Beth that I wanted to go and sit on it. I sat down and out came the pee in the pot. Ms. Beth was so happy, she clapped and yelled "Yay!". We then had to tell both Daddy and Mommy!

Esch Park

This Memorial Day weekend, I got to play a lot in one of my favorite parks, Esch Park. I meet all kinds for fun tiny people there.

Vegetable Garden Day

I helped Mommy and Daddy this afternoon plant tomatoes, pepper plants, lettuce, spinach, and basil. I pruned the grape plant, although Daddy said that we don't do that right now when the leaves are just sprouting. My favorite part was when Daddy watered the garden with the wand. I also got watered!

Plastic Potty

Ms. Beth, Mommy and I went to Target today to get my very first potty. I'm not understanding the concept because when we opened the box and placed the potty on the floor, all I wanted to do was to open the lid and put toys in it.

18 month Check-Up

Today Ms. Beth took me to see Dr. Popper for my 1 1/2 year check-up. I am happy to report that I'm very healthy and growing proportionally. Ms. Beth told Mommy and Daddy that she would like to start slowly with the potty training. I'm OK with that. Later, we had a lovely walk and I fell asleep in the stroller in the library. Peaceful day, especially since I had no shots!

New Words

Ms. Beth wrote...
Today Kaylie is 18 months old (1.5 years!). At the doctor's office waiting room Kaylie said "Chuch?" (fish). She wanted to see them but the fish were all hiding. Also, the other day when I thought Kaylie was asking for "cake", she was really asking for an egg: "cek"! Later, as I prepared her bottle of milk, Kaylie reached for it and said "ba-ba"!

Letter "A"

This morning, Kaylie pointed to the "A" on my "Alta" shirt and said "aaa"! All that Sesame Street is paying off. She is learning her ABCs by listening and watching Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and friends. I guess pretty soon I need to get involved especially since I am the mom :-)

Camping - Day 3

Sunday morning we had a delicious breakfast at Uncle Andy and Aunt Debbie's place with scrambled eggs, raspberries, muffins and bacon. My favorites! Grandma Darlene and Grandpa Chris were so kind that they gave me a tiny camp chair that was perfectly fitted for me so I am now ready for my next camping trip. So many sticks, rocks, and leaves...so little time...I need to come back again.

Happy Birthday Uncle AJ!

We had a hard rainfall last night and this morning it was gray, cold and windy. However, today is the 40th birthday celebration of my Uncle Andy so it just could not stay that way...and it didn't. The sun came out, 40 children came out and many adults attended the outdoor party. And we had buckets of fun! Miss Cassie took me on the swing set and I sat on the big-kids swing for the first time, holding on tight all the time. I had the most delicious cheese tomatoes, sandwich, and marble birthday cake! The kids were playing all kinds of games and I ran around squealing with much glee! Happy Birthday Uncle AJ!

Camping - Day 2

The birthday celebration moved over the campsite. Here we all are enjoying the campfire!

Camping - Day 1

After Ms. Beth left at 3:30, Grandma Debby, Mommy and I drove to Metamora State Park to begin our camping weekend adventure. When we arrived I thoroughly checked out the cute little pine cabin, complete with heater, ceiling fans, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Mommy and I set up camp in the room with a double bed and Grandma took the room with bunk beds. Daddy will join us tomorrow since he had to help direct the Black Belt Spectacular show on Saturday afternoon. The most fun started when we arrived at Uncle Andy and Aunt Debbie's camp site which was inbetween Kaitlyn and Lauren's grandparents and their good friends Ms. Sherry and Mr. Dan. At the campsite, there was this shallow hole full of dry leaves. Lauren and I loved to play in it!

Urban Toddler

Mommy took me to Urban Toddler this afternoon after Ms. Beth left. I was the only one there so the entire place was free to explore without any sharing! Daddy has been gone all day since he had Leadership Ann Arbor quality of life day. Then he went to the Karate school for Black Belt Spectacular rehearsal and the SWAT meeting. I finally got to see him at 9:30 in the evening!

Grandma Debby

This afternoon I wrote to the wonderful surprise of seeing my Grandma Debby. She came over to meet with Kaitlyn, my Aunt Debby, mom and dad. We all had pizza for dinner and then mommy, Kaitlyn, Aunt Debby, and Grandma left to spend the night at the Hands On Museum with Kaitlyn's girl scouts troop. Daddy and I partied at the playground.

Fever

Ms. Beth wrote...
Today Kaylie didn't eat lunch due to a fever. I offered her kiwi, cheese, homemade rye toast, banana and scrambled egg but she wouldn't eat. Greg gave her tylenol in the afternoon so that she would rest more peacefully.

The Mighty Tiger

Ms. Beth wrote...
We took a very long walk today. After lunch Kaylie came up to me with her little toy tiger and let out a mighty growl: GRRRRRRR...! The expression on her face was priceless!

Happy Birthday, PaPa!

Wishing Grandpap in Texas a very happy birthday today. Kaylie's been pointing to photos of Grandpap and saying "Papa"! Happy Birthday, PaPa!
