The Trujillos

Daddy and Uncle Tim attended more panels and workshops at DragonCon today while Auntie JoAnn, Auntie Kim, Mommy and I all went to visit Dahlia, Joe, Joe Jr, Alex, Nicolas, and Lauren for a BBQ. Dahlia's parents were there also. I receive a lot of beautiful clothes, sandals and hair clips, headbands and toys from Dahlia. I started to cry when they put on the sandals and then the headband. Too much too soon. That evening we all met up at the Conceirge Lounge for appetizers and desserts as we watch the FireFly Panel. Again, I was exausted that evening.

DragonCon 2008

This morning we all went to see the costume parade. The weather was beautiful, however a bit hot and sticky for Daddy. Tim and Daddy were able to attend many panels and workshops and I was able to crawl and "walk" around in Auntie Kim's large suite complete with dining room table. Auntie JoAnn, Auntie Kim and Mommy had a lot of visiting to do.

Atlanta

We picked up Auntie Kim and Uncle Tim this morning at 7 am. Today we all fly down to Atlanta to attend DragonCon 2008. We love traveling with Auntie Kim because she was able to get us entrance into the NWA WorldClub at the airport, first class seats, on the 45th floor of the Marriott Marquis, and entrance into the concierge lounge that serves appetizers, desserts and breakfast. We met Auntie JoAnn in the afternoon. I was extremely tired by the end of the day.

Daddy's Birthday

Happy 41st Birthday Daddy! My friends, Morgan, Emma, and Gabriel came over and we all walked to Buhr Park on this beautiful, sunny day. Grandma Debby came and treated Daddy to a Thai lunch at Marnee Thai. Afterwards, we all had some of his birthday cake during the party. Later that evening I attended my first tail-gate party and saw 6 minutes of the first quarter of the Eastern Michigan University football game. A very fun-filled day!

Peas Porage - Not!

From the words of Beth...
Lunchtime was amusing. First I served Kaylie "peas". At least that's what the package said, but I wouldn't have eaten them :-) Her reaction was amazing- she screwed up her eyes, tossed her head back and began to gag. Wow. Even I never imagined they were that bad! Next I discovered I can only serve her 1 to 2 star puffs at a time because she will stockpile them in her mouth like a chipmunk. I think I should have remembered that one. Finally, she grabbed her hair with both slimy hands presumably in frustration because the puffs were gone and her mouth was not yet full and created two gorgeous "ears". Adorable!

Later we played in the nursery. As Kaylie crawled about it struck me how amazing it must be for her: touching for the first time those objects which have made up her landscape since birth. Her activity had an intensity and focus that was really interesting to watch. She worked hard today. If only all of us could enjoy our work so much!

Wattle Walking

A bit of a "Kaylie Day" in the am. I was very happy, but needed to be held all morning. I was a little more independent in the afternoon after a good long nap! We played in the front yard. I had a fruit "Popsicle" and we practiced walking. A Beautiful Day!

Ms. Beth is Back

Ms. Beth has returned from her vacation! She and her Mommy flew to France to meet with her two sisters for a fun-filled adventure on a tour bus. They drove all around France and even went to Rome. She was gone for two weeks and I really missed her. So today I had to show her everything I had learned including standing on my own. I also smiled to show my 6 teeth. We took a walk in the stroller, but after awhile I preferred to move about so we headed for home and I crawled on the grass, tried to eat dry leaves (is autumn coming already?!) and greeted a pretty gray and white striped neighbor cat.

Aunt Rebecca's Birthday

Today we celebrate Aunt Rebecca's 21st Birthday with the family. We were able to visit Grandma and Grandpa Peters and spend the day with Aunt Debbie, Uncle Andy, Kaitlyn and Lauren at their Interlochen campsite. Beautiful day to have a ride in the bike carrier with Daddy and eat a dill pickle for the first time. Grandpa Peters is feeling better, however, he had to go to the hospital where they stuck him into a cylinder tube (MRI). He arrived home just in time for a turkey dinner with garden-grown corn-on-the-cob and gingerbread pudding cake for dessert. I was happy to see him when he came home.

p.s. I am learning that my tongue can "stick out".

Home with Daddy

I am happy to be back home, but I miss Obachan and Grandpap. My flight home was uneventful, however, Mommy may think otherwise since I touched everything, including knocking over her glass of GingerAle and white wine and I had two poo diapers; one right before boarding and one at 35,000 feet. Ms. Beth is still on vacation, so most of the day is spent with Daddy. I always launch my feet up on the stroller tray, which indicates that I am ready to explore during our morning walks. Yesterday and today I made Daddy move fast to catch me during my attempts to "walk", especially towards the subwoofer. I spit up on it today. Luka spit up on Mommy and Daddy's bed. We had a busy day.

Sumner and Cordell

The Sumner's and Cordell's are good family friends of Obachan, Grandpap and Mommy. Last evening, I was able to play with Jean, Paul and Patrick Sumner at their house. I enjoyed playing with all the horses. Today, I played with their cousins, Andy, Nick, and Charlie Cordell. Miss Eva was with her other cousin. I can't wait to come back again to play with the trucks, swords, and trains.

Climbed Three Mountains

Grandpap watched me this afternoon while Mommy worked. After 5 pm, Grandpap said to Mommy, "Boy, is Kaylie active. She climbed three mountains". He handed me to Mommy then left to take a nap.

Standing Tall

I started to sit-up by myself two weeks ago and now I am ready to take it to the next level. I love to stand and hold the nearest piece of furniture. Today I enjoyed standing and then letting go! Mommy and Obachan counted 2 seconds and then 4 seconds, then I fall on my bum! Hee Hee

Grandpa Peters talked to Daddy today. He has finished his first round of tests, but still is not able to come home. The doctors said he needs to get his blood count levels higher. When I do not feel well, I cry and someone holds me. I want to put my arms around Grandma Peters and place my head on her shoulders and whisper to her it will all be alright. For Grandpa Peters, I would like to give him a lick on his cheek, I mean a kiss.

Knights of Columbus

Here is my Grandpap who is a 4th degree K of C. I was not able to wear my new Nordstrom's dress because it is too big for me right now and plus my Mommy was not able to wash it in time. So I am wearing the dress that Keiko gave me. I also had my first taste of watermelon juice and my second taste of Kabocha (Japanese squash). Obachan prepared it for me. Yummy! I can't wait to tell Ms. Beth all about it. I really miss her.

This evening Mommy and I prayed for Grandpa Peters. He is not feeling well and is currently in the hospital getting some tests. We want him to return home healthy and happy to Grandma as soon as possible. Grandpa, we send our love!

Nordstrom's

Obachan, Mommy and I went to Nordstrom's to look for some cute outfits. Mommy and Obachan did not find any dresses they liked, however, they did find two cute outfits for me. I hope to wear one of them tomorrow for Church.

Peach Treat

Obachan and Grandpap say that today is a cool 95 degrees in Fort Worth. I thought it was still hot so I splashed again in the pool. Auntie JoAnna gave me my first peach slice. I think I liked it because I tasted it more than three times and according to Mommy and Daddy one must always take at least three data points.

Hot Day

I had so much fun today with Obachan and Grandpap especially in the morning when we were outside in the gardens. They gave me a new pink umbrella stroller so that they can push me around. I was crawling and playing in the front room when the back door opened and Auntie JoAnna appeared! I love Auntie JoAnna! In the evening I got to splash in the big blue pool. However, I was the only one in the pool. Everyone else was outside swatting the big mosquitos.

Texas Trip

Today is the day that Miss Beth leaves to France to visit her sisters. She has not seen them in quite some time. I will miss her very much. Since she will be gone for two weeks, Mommy and I will leave to Texas this evening to see Obachan and Grandpap. Daddy wanted to make sure that I had a full day so that I will sleep during the flight. It worked. Daddy and I visited some friends at the Ann Arbor Chamber offices. I was happy to see Miss Cheryl because I missed her at the Open House. Then we went to Sam's to pick up a few items including my formula and jalapeno poppers and avacodos for Daddy's LAN party this Saturday.

On The Go

A hot, sticky day. Miss Beth and I played indoors. Miss Beth read her book and I "read" and chewed on mine. We did spend some time outside in the shade on a blanket. My happiest moments? When I managed to crawl to the edge of the blanket and pick grass!

Mr. Seahorse

A rainy day. Before the rain Miss Beth and I walked to the library and read several books. My favorite was "Mr. Seahorse" by Eric Carle. I also love "Today is Monday" because of the bright pictures. There were many children at the library having art lessons. Many times, I preferred watching them over looking at books.

Off to the Fair

Today Mommy and Daddy took me to the Dixboro Fair. We had a lot of fun listening to music, talking to people, and eating fun festival food. OK, Mommy and Daddy ate the food. I pretty much just watched. I don't have enough teeth yet for corn on the cob.

We saw some neat animals there, too. There was a cow and her baby calf. There were ducks and chickens and even some goats. I thought they looked pretty neat, but I think I'll wait until next year to play with them.
